Tregwainton Gardens

Today the Media and some of the other group is going to go to Trengwainton Gardens. This belongs to national trust heritage. We are going to look at the project Wet Nose day which is when you are allowed to take your dogs into the garden. We are going to think of ways to advertise the day this could help us with some of our work experience as we could spend some of the days for it at Trengwainton Gardens as it will be and experience to us as most of us have never done anything like iot before.

Ideas for Tregwainton Gardens

The group come up with the idea of having an easter egg hunt for the kids and parents to do. Our plan is to have 4 pictures of eggs but there different colours but in different sections of the garden, for example in the first section everyone will have to find a picture of a green egg and then when they found the picture and move on to the next section of the garden and will have to find a picture of another egg but this time it will be a different colour. Once they have found all the eggs then they win the prize. We were also thinking of putting 1 gold egg in each section and the person that finds one will get another prize, but they can only have one gold egg. Also having face painting and maybe even some competitions for the kids to participate in. We will be going to the garden earlier in the day so we can see where we can put the pictures obviously not putting them in places where people are going to be damaging the plants, and tying them up with a piece of string so once again we are not damaging any of there plants they have in Tregwainton Gardens.
Tregwainton gardens are having a wet nose day which is a day where people can bring there dogs into the garden. We thought we would keep the idea of a hunt but this time they obviously win dog treats and toys for there dogs. We thought these ideas would be good as everyone has to work together and plus they can see the plants in the garden as they are walking around the area.

My Poster I Designed For Wet Nose Day

This is the poster i designed for Trengwainton Gardens for the event they are going to have which is called wet nose day. This day was going to be a day where people can bring there dogs in and we are going to plan events for both the owners and there dogs to particpate in. For example a dog hunt where they would have to look around the gardens for hints to where the prize is and the first people there with there dogs would win something for there dog and themseleves.

Introduction

We had an Introduction to our new project that we are going to be starting after Easter Trengwainton Gardens and we the opportunity to take pictures of the garden for graphic design project. We took pictures of the flowers and the some other different types of plants. In this project we are required to work alongside local community groups or charities to see if they can assistance us and hopefully use some of our new developed skill in graphic design.

Primary Research for Interaction Project

Our class visited The Acorn Theatre and Penlee Gallery in Penzance. When we went there we asked the staff to find out a few things about their events and projects. The Acorn Theatre is the only one in Penzance, so this is a good selling point. They put on there own events, and take bookings from others. The entire building is frequently hired out for performances and private parties. They have disable access, and often put on community projects for young people with learning difficulties.
The Acorn Arts Centre is a small, independently run arts venue with charitable status, in the heart of Penzance, Cornwall. In 1987 the trustees of Cornwall Theatre Company Ltd., a small scale touring theatre company, took over the assets and liabilities of the near defunct Penzance Arts Centre. Their aim was to increase and expand the audiences of the old arts centre by injecting a new enthusiasm for the arts into the community and widening the spectrum of arts provided.

Penlee House, Penzance, is the only Cornish public gallery specialising in the Newlyn School artists (c.1880 - c.1940) including Stanhope and Elizabeth Forbes, Walter Langley, Harold Harvey and Laura Knight. Set in an elegant Victorian house and park, Penlee House also covers West Cornwall's archaeology and social history, and offers an excellent café and shop.
The Penlee Gallery is a gallery and a museum of Cornish classic art the Newlyn and Lamorna Schools of Art take up most of the gallery space there. Their community arts project arent on at the moment due to the retirement odf their previous community arts manager, it will be open again soon though.
