We plan to make a short film in St Ives of the beach, sea and the island to show St Ives in the past and how much it has changed. We are using some archive footage and do some filming ourselves as well. We are not planning to have any voice over in the short film but we are going to either use our own music or we want the music to be calm and relaxed, as we want the audience to think for themselves and to contemplate, because everyone is going to think differently.
We want to put in the film of modern St Ives and then archive footage next to each other to show how much that certain place has changed. We want fairly still shots. We are thinking of some of the experimental shots could be of children playing on the beach or running across the sand as there are lots of children on the beaches in St Ives.
And also a sunset shot because we thought this would be a nice clip to put into our film. It wont be just the tourists we are going to be filming we want to get there early hours so we can get the calm point in St Ives.
We want to reveal the hidden St Ives as not many people know a lot about St Ives apart from the beaches and there is so much more to know about the place.
As Harriet lives in St Ives she will be doing most of the filming and photographs and I will be doing most of the editing as I don’t live there, but I will go over and help her film when she needs my help as we are working together. We thought of this idea as many people will not know a lot about the history and what St Ives used to look like as they may be to young, not lived down here to long or has not even thought about what St Ives used to look like as they might not be many short films that tell them.
When the audience finish looking at our video we want them to be thinking a lot and I think from the ideas we have already go this will make them do that definitely.
We think that this will take us 5 weeks to do
Week 1- Plan Ideas, what we need to take and where we want to film.
Week 2 – Looking at the old footage
Week 3 – We want to go to St Ives and start filming and take pictures
Week 4 – Finish off filming and start editing
